Ikechukwu Uche feels Malaga still have room for improvement after their 1-0 defeat in the hands of Villarreal at the Estadio El Madrigal.
Roberto Soldado’S 18th minute strike condemned Javi Gracia’s side to their 10th defeat of the season, and are ranked 11th on the Spanish topflight log.
The Nigerian who replaced Juanpi in the 84th minute for his debut expressed disappointment with the defeat, but feels his side must work harder ahead Real Madrid clash.
“We couldn’t achieve what we wanted but we were up against a big team who are where they are for a reason,”Uche told club website.
“Our team worked well and tried hard but it wasn’t to be. We need to try and improve our positive aspects before the next match.”
“I’m happy with my debut and returning to what was my home for three years. Now we’re heading back to Málaga to continue working, in order to achieve the results that we want.
“We’re going to approach the game knowing that Real Madrid isn’t just another rival, so we need to work hard and remain focused throughout play,” he concluded.
