Barrow chief gives hilarious response to how his side are trying to beat Chelsea in Carabao Cup

While giant killings are part and parcel of cup competitions in England, there is not expected to be one at Stamford Bridge tonight.

Chelsea get their Carabao Cup campaign underway tonight, hosting Barrow as they look to go one further in this competition than they did last season.

It is expected that there is going to be mass change from Enzo Maresca’s side ahead of tonight, with Mykhailo Mudryk set to be given a chance to save his career at the club tonight.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is another player who has been tipped to start, with him no doubt hoping to make a statement at his new club.

An insight into Barrow’s preparation for the game was given to BBC Radio 5 Live today, with sporting director Iain Wood not sounding too confident about his side’s chances.

Barrow chief admits he doesn’t know how to beat Chelsea
He said: “We did our analyst work yesterday and put their names on the board and just thought – what are we going to do here?

“Whoever they put out will be an unbelievable team but our lads are just going to give it their best shot.”

Enzo Maresca to rest Chelsea players

It is likely that his side will not be facing some of Chelsea’s real big players, with the congested fixture list that is to come with European football on the horizon.

The likes of Cole Palmer and Levi Colwill have started every game so far, with them likely to be rested tonight.

There may even be some of the academy’s brightest stars on display. Kiano Dyer has been seen in first team training, and there is a chance for Josh Acheampong to make his first start for the club in the face of right-back injury woes.
