Hargreaves believes the Red Devils are well-positioned to claim another trophy after a disappointing Champions League and Premier League campaign last term.
Manchester United kicks off their Europa League journey against Twente at Old Trafford on Wednesday night.
"I think when you are in the Champions League and you are not at the level of the other teams you get found out real quick," Hargreaves told Metro UK.
"Last year was quite disappointing, the issues that they had in the Champions League, but I think winning the Europa League is super realistic for them with the squad that they have."
Hargreaves cited United's squad depth and quality as reasons for his optimism:
"I wouldn’t put it past them. So I think for United right now, they are probably in the right place where they can actually go and win that competition."
