Arsenal fan Piers Morgan has hit back at criticism from Manchester City supporters about the Gunners using 'dark arts' to grind out a draw at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.
After Leandro Trossard's first-half red card, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta put all 10 players behind the ball in the second period to defend their 2-1 lead. A number of Gunners stars also went down with injury or cramp in an apparent attempt to run down the clock.
The plan worked perfectly until City finally broke through in the eighth minute of stoppage time, with John Stones rescuing a valuable point for the reigning champions.
Blues fans were largely unimpressed by the way Arsenal approached the second half, which was summed up by Manchester United legend Gary Neville, who said on Sky Sports: "I think the word ends in '-housery'."
Famous Gunners supporter Morgan appeared on talkSPORT the morning after the game, where he refuted the criticism on the basis of City's ongoing legal battle over alleged financial rule breaches.
"It does take something to be lecturered on morality by a team that is currently facing 115 Premier League charges on misconduct," he said. "The most egregious offences ever leveled at a club in the history of the Premier League. So forgive me if I'm not going to take any dark art lectures from Manchester City."
